Maia Cassie

Poem – Letter to the Male Gaze

Maia is a 16-year-old aspiring author from Salt Spring Island attending school in Duncan. Her poetry has been published in Take Care Zine, she was a nominee for Top Junior Screenplay at the BC Student Film Festival, and she was an award winner in the national online Poetry in Voice finals. When not organizing her school’s Poetry Café or rereading her favourite poems, Maia also enjoys analyzing film and TV through video essays and volunteering at her local library.
